The females can lay large numbers of eggs,
which are just dropped on the floor. She will lay fertile eggs even if there is no male available.
To get the eggs to hatch just remove them
from the cage and place them in plastic boxes lined with kitchen towel or some
other absorbent paper. The lid should be a good fit as the young nymphs can move
very fast but it should have many small holes to allow for ventilation. Every
day very lightly spray the eggs - too much water and the eggs will go mouldy, too little and the nymphs won’t hatch
properly. Keep the eggs at room temperature and roughly six months after being laid they should hatch.
They should start feeding immediately on
eucalyptus; when they are smaller spray the nymphs daily.
